Default .xxx

Will you register a .xxx domain?
There is talk that ONLY porn sites can use these domains, so i wont be needing one.
Apparently they will be expensive though, not under $10 like .coms

No, I dont run any porn sites (though i know they make alot of money)

if they can only be used for porn sites, then that will stop most people from snapping them up.

I still dont know how much they will be, and how they will even police that only porn sites use .xxx

How can they stop other sites using the domain?

Last I heard the .xxx domain got shelved again, I thought. Maybe it will come back up, but I doubt the more annoying marketers are going to use it anyways. I do see a lot of the legitimate porn going there, but I am not sure about the stuff that is borderline or worse.

If the xxx extension was the ONLY thing used to identify these sites it would make the lives of the porn addicts a lot easier, and the rest of us would not have to deal with it. However, I don't really see that happening.

I think the extension is a really good idea. It would help a lot with filtering of adult content - just block .xxx on a kids machine, and in the work place, and that is a lot of filtering done. Of course theres still the less reputable stuff to worry about, but its a start.

I won't be registering one myself. I don't run any porn sites, not do I particularly want to get into that kind of industry.

I would think that non-porn sites wouldn't want to have xxx as a suffix to their domain name.
