Hmm i have to admit i have never read one web design book. Bad huh?

Theres alot on amazon though, check it out.

I got a quick guide to CSS, but never had any use for it. I'd say just go to w3schools website and learn from there, cheaper and better!

In all honesty, you don't need books man. There are plenty of resources online that can give you a complete understanding. Check out these websites:

I agree, just find some good tutorials online and ask questions in forums like these. The best way to pick it up is by trying, fiddle with some designs and try a program like dreamweaver

I'm always looking something up in my Peachpit Press books. They are inexpensive, easy-to-follow and cover all the web design softwares out.

There are a lot of books on different web design languages but not as a package .
there are books on html,dhtml,css,javascript but not on web design!
