When you are selling a domain how do you decide on the price you want to sell it at? Do you have some rule-of-thumb fomula you use, or is there something else you do to make the decision?

I just think about what the going price could be for such a domain name and then set my own price that I would be happy with!

I guess that is what I am trying to uncover.. What is your process for determining the going rate? I assume you have been doing it a while, so you just know from a lot of experience. If I were to try and appraise a typical domain, though, what would be some of the key factors that would impact pricing?

Well triumph, a domain name is worth as much as someone is willing to give for it! There are alot of people who need alot of domains all together. But there is probably someone who just wants the domain you have, not a different one, just yours! This person will probably also pay alot for it, compared to people who are not really interested in it..
So I'd say sell a domain for the price you want to sell it for, if you don't know for what price you could sell it, get it appraised ( you can even pm me and I'll say around what price you should/could sell it for ) Just remember don't try to sell it immediately, selling takes time, if you get the right person for it, the money won't be bad either. I have had a domain which I didn't do a thing with for 2 years, then some bloke emailed me about it( i kept advertising the sale for it those 2 years ) and he wanted to buy it. I sold it for ALOT more then I expected! |

Well for me I get it appraised and try to figure out how interested the person who wants to buy it is. If they're very interested than of course I'm going to ask for a lot of money.
I've been fiddling with the idea of renting out some domain names. |
