Default What's to expect

As a newbie in the domain game, what can you expect to earn buying and selling domains?

I don't think it is a great time to start this business. Plus more and more court rulings are coming in favour of people with trademarks registered in the name of domains they are looking for.

I believe I mentioned elsewhere that a friend of mine in the industry is convinced that this process of domain registration and ownership will be taken over by the government in much the same way that copyright and trademark laws are managed by the government.

I am also a newbie here and from what I understand we can buy domains and sell it later. It is like buying plenty of tickets in championship games and selling it at a higher price? Am I right here? Just asking.

Yes, you can park a domain and wait for the value to rise, but if you intend to do that, you have to be fairly certain that the name you buy is going to go up in value. The people who do this best are the ones who can get ahead of trends and anticipate what will be hot (WITHOUT violating trade marks by using reserved company names)

Burfi suggests it's not a great time to start this business, so are opportunities dying out?

On the positive side, I guess there will always be someone seeing the value of a name and registering it in time to make a profit.

But there were many more chances a few years ago, right?
