If you want to register a travel-related site to jump on the bandwagon, this extension is already being promoted and advertised as a way for travelers to quickly find and sort through sites that ONLY relate to travel.

It's an interesting idea but not very practical. The .travel extension would be far longer than most consumers are used to. I can see users not thinking it is a "real" address.
