Just register a new domain and move the site there. YOu can do some redirects from the old domain I believe.
Double check that, but i think its a 301 redirect?

What you can do is have a service do it for you. I think namecheap.com does moves for users at a cost of $3 per domain moved.

If/When you move your domain, you can also use this as a marketing opportunity. Send out an email to your customer distribution list, if you have one and let them know your new site is up, give them the link and tell them a bit about new content, coupons or discounts to advertise the grand opening. OR, place the coupons on the old site with a forward to the new site to redeem the coupons.

Having a link on old site informing people that you move on some new site for 1 or 2 month is also benificial !

Get a new domain name and either redirect the browser to the new domain or ask the nameserver redirection by your webhost.

Sorry, I'm not clear on how a redirect works.

Wouldn't you still need to maintain that page on the old server for as long as you had the redirecting in effect?
