Do you do design mock ups in photoshop, or do you just delve straight into the coding and do it as you go?

What are the advantages to making mock ups?

I dont really design myself but if i have to, i use photoshop first.
Its the best way to see your layout in a completed form and to really use as a guide to code the site, that way you know what your site will look like.

Probably makes it easier to code it, I dont know.
I kind of see it as wasted time, It takes me ages to make a mock up where i could be using that time to actually make the website!

yes, i dont do it. it can take hours to do one in photoshop. and slicing etc is a real waste of time.
css is so powerful now, you dont really need images anymore.

I make the design in photoshop and then export it into dreamweaver and code it. I like this way as it shows me how it will turn out, and how it should turn out! Also this gives a way for me to show the client how it will look like!

I like to sketch my designs on paper, and then try and come up with something digital

I dont do mocks really, go straight into the coding, you can always change it if you dont like it. I tend to come up with an idea and then I want to see it on my screen fast.

Then if I'm right you are more of a coder then a designer right?

what does the coding have to do with the design?

Doesn't coding determine design by specifying colors, fonts, size, gif backgrounds etc?
