Who still uses spacer gifs?
Are they still relevant or out of date now?

No, I use margins.
I used to use spacers but no need with css. You can do anything with css now and using margins/padding replaces the old clear gifs.

Ok, also i heard they can be insecure?
Surely this is not accurate though because how can an image be insecure?
